He is the author or editor of eleven books and more than sixty scholarly articles on entrepreneurship and innovation management. He lives in Shaker Heights, OH.

Outstanding!

This is an OUTSTANDING book. It is very readable, packed with great info and data, and flows very well. It is also very well structured and would appeal to a wide range of audience from entrepreneurs to policy makers, and from investors in start-ups to students of entrepreneurship. It is without doubt one of the best entrepreneurship books I have read.

Nowadays, there are thousands of books about entrepreneurship. Most of them build a false picture of the phenomenon. If you REALLY want to know about entrepreneurship this is the book you should buy. The book challenges the common myths about entrepreneurship and, drawing from rigorous research and data sources, describes entrepreneurship as it really occurs.

For example, the book shows the typical start-up isn't innovative, has no plans to grow, has one employee, and generates less than $100,000 dollars in revenue. It covers a wide range of fascinating topics like: What are today's entrepreneurial industries? How are new businesses financed? What makes some entrepreneurs more successful than others? How well does the typical entrepreneur do? How valuable is the average start-up?

The author of book is widely regarded within the academic community as the top entrepreneurship scholar in the world. I would strongly recommend his book to anyone who is serious about entrepreneurship.

Interesting read if you're considering entrepreneurship

I found this book to be an interesting read for people considering becoming entrepreneurs. It is filled with data points that are not very well know. I would take some of conclusions with a grain of salt, as some of the data backing it is not all that solid. However, the author does mention when the data is not extensive.

It's not a guide to entrepreneurship and if you aren't sold on starting your own business, then it will probably seem rather gloomy. However, it's a good eye opener if you have a decent job and have considered starting a company just to not have to work for somebody else. Would defeinitely recommend it if you are thinking about starting your own business but are on the fence.

The conclusion set forth in the end seemed a bit rushed (it's all mentioned in the last 2 pages) but I think the previous chapters are worth it.

It also has a lot of references (almost half the book pages are filled with references), so depending on what kind of reader you are, that might be (or not) a good thing.

Already feels outdated as of March 2013

feels old. old data, old ideas. It needs to be refreshed to move itself out of the time when the internet did not make entrepreneurship a totally different game. also it spends a disproportionate amount of time dealing with why women, african-americans and other groups don't do well as entrepreneurs, which is only of interest to you if you like depressing cold truths.

This book is told by the man who was captured. Thought I should read it since I have family in the same area. Some details are graphic but that is what happened. Take your time reading it, you may have to put it down for a bit to let what he says sink in. Or get over what was just said. Indian life was not simple, what they ate will make you cringe, and what they did was not always acceptable. You will learn was it was like in Texas at the time.

Completely amoral; completely fascinating

This is the struggle between the Texas settlers and the Apaches and Comanches -- told from the point of view of an Apache warrior. An Apache warrior who lived among the settlers up to age 11 and after age 22. So he can name the settlers whom the Apaches killed and scalped and can recognize the brands on the horses the Apaches stole. He also includes short accounts by Texas Ranger authors after his own account of a battle with the Rangers. I have not read anything quite like it.

It also includes an account of his time between tribes, living as an outcast.

The book concludes with the tribes moved to reservations and his forced reunion with his family and his assimilation into the life of the settlers. It is a unique read.

I began this series in high school and I'm out of college now. Since the books are not quite readily available in the States, I'm an just now getting on with it. This was a great recap to get me back into the characters before reading Knife Edge.

This little book renewed my feelings for this series. I knew I wanted to finish it but Knife' s Edge just didn't hold my attention the way Knights and Crosses did, so, I took a break from the series. Now, I think I'm ready for the next book.

Elegant 25 x 2 each Goddess and Mythology Designs – printed one side of the page

[[VIDEOID:ded0ea3b4840c3e15398b06fb12c870c]]I have most of Selina Fenech's coloring books and grayscale coloring books and I always enjoy her design style. “Goddess and Mythology” is another fantastic book in her series. In this coloring book, there are 25 designs which is great as-is; however, as usual for Ms. Fenech, she gives us two copies of each design. That provides 50 coloring opportunities in this book. It gives me the option of coloring designs two different ways or to share a copy with someone. Either way, it's a good thing.

The designs have many details but are not intricate or with tiny elements to color for the most part. There are a couple of nudes with very strategically placed elements so that nothing is showing. I've been playing with shading and have tried adding an element of clothing transparency to some of my more recent projects but that is my design choice rather than anything in the coloring book.

While the designs are printed on one side of the page, on the page opposite each design (backside of previous design page) and in light gray print, Ms. Fenech has provided the name of each individual. Along with the name, she has given us a short blurb on the history of the mythology/goddess. I found that extremely helpful as some of these stories were new to me. As I am coloring, I can always look up the name and get a more in-depth explanation but, for the most part, the amount of information provided in the book is sufficient for me.

The designs are based on stories from around the world – from Greek and Roman mythology to that of the Vikings to the Far East, from Africa to England. These are the designs that are included in the book: Valkyrie, Blodeuwedd, Diana, The Lady of the Lake, Arianrhod, Aphrodite, Antheia, Athena, Cerridwen, Coventina, Fidelma, Gaia, 2 Wiccan representations, Ishtar, Isis, Nuwa, Selene, Parvati and Shiva, Tempestas, Echo, Guanyin, The Triple Goddess, Oshun, and Rhiannon,

This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium. I will list, in the comments section below, the coloring mediums I test with and generally use for coloring my projects. For this book, I especially like using alcohol-based markers with colored pencil for shading and depth.

25 x 2 each Goddess and Mythology Designs (50 coloring pages)

Printed on one side of page

Paper is white, thin, slightly rough and non-perforated

Designs do not merge into the binding and there is plenty of room to cut out pages if you choose to do so. Most designs have a framing line around the outer edge

Glue Binding

Alcohol and water-based markers bleed through the paper to some degrees. Alcohol markers bleed through quickly while water-based bleeds through in spots.

Gel pens and India ink pens leave colorful shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply multiple coats.

Coloring Pencils work well with this paper. It has enough tooth to get good pigment (especially with repeated layers), layer and blend easily as well. Both wax and oil based pencils worked well with the paper. Hard lead pencils can leave dents through the page.

I use and I recommend that you use a blotter page below your work regardless of which medium you use so that ink or dents don't mar the rest of the book. I like card stock of several sheets of heavyweight paper for this purpose.

Beautiful artwork...

Summary:
"Goddesses" contains two copies each of 25 different images, 3 pages of introductory material, and a biographical page in the back. It measures 8.5 x 11 inches and is glue bound in a matte finish cover. Featuring black and white line drawings, this book is appropriate for adult colorists on all skill levels.

Paper:
The paper in this book is bright white and slightly heavier than standard copy weight. All pages are non-perforated and have a picture on one side with a short description of the depicted goddess on the reverse. All mediums can be used, but wet products will bleed through and may cause some wrinkling. Be sure to place several sheets of blotter paper under your picture to prevent color transfer onto the next page.

Artwork:
As the title implies, this book focuses on goddesses from around the world. Inside you'll see deities from Welsh, Roman, Greek, Babylonian, Asian, and Egyptian cultures. Each image features background elements and clothing from the depicted story. Line weight does vary within each image and the print quality is clean. The majority of the artwork is surrounded by a thin black border and all of it ends before entering the binding of the book. Detail level remains fairly high throughout and picture completion time should range from 4-8 hours(may be slightly different for each individual). Overall, this is a beautiful book that depicts stories from other countries and cultures in a respectful and artistic way. It is best suited for colorists who enjoy a variety of fantasy themed images.

As with Selinas previous books, Goddesses and Mythology is a subtle deep purple with a partially coloured image from the interior on the cover. 
The soft matte card cover is 27.9cm x 21.6cm and the book is 108 pages. The spine is glue bound, and quite pliable after some use. 
The paper is of moderate thickness and texture. A number of layers are easily achieved on the paper, with both oil and wax based pencils. Waterbased markers shadow, any other wet media will bleed. Make sure to have a few pages of standard paper behind the image to catch any bleedthrough.
Images are single sided, and surrounded by a border to prevent the image from entering the spine. 
The facing page has the name of the image for easy reference to the original. This book contains , 25 different images, each one repeated, for a total of 50 images.

Images
I have wanted a colouring book with mythological imagery ever since I began colouring - and this one fits the bill.
Selinas style is very consistent, with a delicate, traditional fantasy style that lends itself beautifully to colouring pages. These are no exception, with each image having been either converted from original artwork or drawn for the purpose of this book.
One very handy feature is a short paragraph about the Goddess being pictures underneath the name on the facing page. This is very useful for referencing or researching if you want to!
Linework is consistently thin throughout, and intricacy is moderate through the book with a good mix of smaller and larger spaces throughout. 

Health
The natural colour schemes that accompany these mythological figures and scenes are innately soothing and would be very well suited for times of anxiety or pain, or just a low day.
The fantasy theme is one of my favourites when you are in need of distraction, as the imagery and theme is perfect for escapism.
Line thickness and intricacy means that those who have vision or fine motor skills impairments may struggle with some of these images, but as always, please do check the images and flipthrough before deciding.

The definitive resource for collectors of RPG's bar none

This book has it all for collectors of RPG material from the earliest days to 1990. One can only hope that a sequel can be published eventually that would cover 1991-present. The book is divided into sections of role-playing based on genre. Each item has a general description followed by how many different editions were published, how many pages, any inserts and other pertinent information. There are also special notes on special collectable items and quotes from many of the original designers themselves on their creations and how they were created. This book really contains just about every RPG product ever published, even the small press items that are impossible to come by. The author really knows his area and did his homework. This book is sine qua non for the RPG collector. Absolutely superb!

The best history of gaming ever

I began role-playing in the late seventies, when all of the earliest role-playing games were still available for sale. Reading "Heroic Worlds" is like returning to those early days, both in its comprehensive listing of every role-playing game release available up through 1990, and in its evocation of the state of the art of role-playing games in its early days. This book is bound to be a classic for a number of reasons: one, it's the only place that will serve the collector hoping to buy every single supplement for their favorite game; two, it's the best history available on the subject, even today; and three, it will serve the game designers of the future, in seeing what has already been done, and what still remains to be done. It's a wonderful read, as well. Now all we need is a second edition, that updates the subject to the present day!
